By the end of our 6-week sessions, you’ll be able to create your own business plan with confidence. Establishing a Successful Small Business is a 6-week course that introduces you to the fundamentals of starting a new business. The course is designed for anyone who has always dreamed of owning a business and needs to learn exactly what is needed to succeed.
What You Will Learn:
*Is Owning a Business Right for Me: Defining the Entrepreneurial Mindset; Concept Feasibility;
Overview of Starting a Business
*Setting Your Business Up by the Book: Licensing & Permitting; Insurance, Taxes, and
Legal Requirements; Human Resources and Employer Requirements
*Planning for a Healthy Business: Business Planning, Market Analysis, and Identification;
Competitive Analysis
*Business Financial Literacy & Management : Budgeting, Bookkeeping, Financial
Management Software, Financial Statements; Cash Flow Management
*Funding Your Business: Access to Capital; Next steps, including how to apply for grants
and/or other capital
By the end of our 6-week sessions, you’ll be able to create your own business plan with confidence.
All classes are conducted online via Zoom and course materials are shared via Google Classroom for a collaborative virtual environment. Attendees should also have a gmail account to access the Google Classroom.
This course is taught by Rhonda Lowe, a UC Merced Small Business Development Center (SBDC) instructor.
